In its 2012 list of America’s best high schools, the publication US News & World Report ranked Southern Door high school as the 14th best high school in the state of Wisconsin & 1727 out of 22,000 high schools in the US. This is the second time that Southern Door has been recognized by the magazine. The first recognition was in 2009 & was the last time the award was handed out. High school principal Steve Bousley says the high ranking is a tribute to the district’s great students, hard working staff & supportive community. Bousley says the school is successful because intentional steps have been taken to create an environment where teachers can teach & students can learn.
