Snowstorm Power Outage Report

A by-product of many storms that hit Door County is the possibility of high winds and that was certainly the case this time around. An inevitable consequence of gusty winds that often reach 50 mph or more is electrical service disruptions. Wisconsin Public Service Corporation reports that, at one time, more than 600 customers in Door County were without power Friday. The majority were located in the Sister Bay & Ellison Bay areas, but WDOR News was told that power outages were found in Baileys Harbor, Carlsville and in the Brussels and Sturgeon Bay areas. Crews were dispatched to restore service and the vast majority of customers had their power restored before the noon hour Friday.

Sturgeon Bay Utilities is reporting just 2 customers were without power Thursday evening in the Cabot’s Point area of southern Door County
