Single-Vehicle Crash in Sevastopol

Thursday afternoon, there was a single vehicle accident due to the slippery road condition in the Town of Sevastopol. Shortly before 4:45 PM, a 16 year-old Sturgeon Bay man was heading east (or northbound) on Highway 57 in his Dodge Charger sedan, a short ways east of Mathey Road. Going into the left curve in the road, he lost control due to the icy road conditions. His vehicle slid off the southeast side of the curve into the ditch and rolled over onto its side as it came to rest against a utility pole. The driver and his 15 year-old male passenger both had possible injury. The driver received no medical transport, but his passenger did receive an ambulance ride to the Door County Medical Center to be checked out. The vehicle required towing due to the damages. The utility pole was damaged, but no citation was given.
