Shops Damaged in June Fire to Be Torn Down

WDOR News has learned that the building which housed the Harbor Place Shoppes on the west side of Sturgeon Bay will be razed in the near future. The building at 49 North Madison Avenue was severely damaged in a fire that occurred during the early morning hours of June 30th. Action on the fate of the structure has been on hold while property owner Thomas “Cap” Wulf, negotiated with his insurance carrier. We’re told the negotiations continue, but the go-ahead to take down the building has been granted. The old building, which has been home to many businesses over its long life, could razed early next year.
