The Sevastopol board of education has settled on a top candidate for superintendent. She is doctor Linda Underwood-Schweigert, superintendent of Goochland County schools in Goochland, Virginia. The board met in closed session Wednesday to decide who should replace retiring superintendent Steve Cromell who has guided the day to day operation at the school in Institute for the past five years. A second round of interviews were held on Saturday. While the job has been offered, negotiations will be needed to finalize a contract. A couple dozen individuals expressed interest in the job. That number was trimmed to six for the first round of interviews & cut again to two candidates for the final interview.
