The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center is looking for carvers to sculpt blocks of ice at the upcoming Fire & Ice Festival on Saturday, February 16th. Interested artists/sculptors would be expected to design & carve a piece of art by turning a block of ice into a potential award winning creation. Carving begins at 8:30AM & judges will start their review of the artwork at 2PM. Cash will be awarded in three classes, beginners, intermediate & advanced, with prizes running from $25 to $125. There will also be a people’s choice award with voting by the general public. The Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center is also looking for businesses & individuals to sponsor the carvers. Sponsorship ranges from $85 to $100. There will be 18 blocks of ice positioned in various locations throughout the city this year.
