SBU Electronic Recycling a Big Success

Customers of Sturgeon Bay Utilities certainly took advantage of the opportunity to get rid of old & unwanted electronics, batteries & lamps this week. Kelly Laluzerne of the utility says a steady stream of vehicles unloaded computers, computer components, televisions & microwaves, along with light bulbs, holiday lights & batteries. Laluzerne says an estimated 50 tons of material was dropped off during the one day event Wednesday. Sturgeon Bay Utilities offered the service to customers to ensure that the materials are recycled in accordance with federal & state regulations & disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.
