At a time when it seems as though much of our lives are directed by some sort of electronic gear, it’s refreshing to know that the human element can pick up the slack when needed. Such was the case Tuesday afternoon when the lights on Highway 42/57 at Ashland Avenue failed. A Sturgeon Bay Police officer was called on to direct traffic the old fashioned way until a crew from the Department of Transportation could arrive to repair the malfunctioning traffic light.
