SBPD Has a New App

The latest tool being offered by the Sturgeon Bay Police Department to keep the public informed about what’s going on in the community is now available for Android or I-Phone users. The app has 24 possible features & options. Some of the features include department contacts, push notifications, feedback & tip forms, as well as options to retrieve information from FEMA, the National Weather Service & the National Terror Advisory System. Other uses include links about wanted persons, videos & blog posts. The phone application can be downloaded free by searching “my police department” or “my p-d” in the I-Phone or Android Marketplace. Once downloaded, you simply navigate to “Wisconsin” & select the “Sturgeon Bay Police Department.” Public Information Officer Chad Mielke says the police app is for routine questions & information sharing. Mielke says the 911 emergency calling system is the best method for alerting authorities about emergency situations.
