The Sturgeon Bay Police Department reports that two men & a woman, all 19 years old & all from the city, have been arrested in connection with thefts from parked vehicles. Beginning in mid-October, the department began receiving reports about thefts from vehicles parked overnight. A common denominator was the fact that the vehicles had been left unlocked. Investigators also learned that a north 16th Avenue resident had chased two men who broke into his vehicle. Following up on that incident, officers determined that a woman attempted to pawn some of the stolen items in Green Bay. After she was interrogated, city police learned the identities of the other two suspects & picked them up. The 19-year old woman was issued citations for four counts of receiving stolen property & one count of resisting or obstructing a police officer. One of the 19-year old men was issued a citation for receiving stolen property. The other 19-year old man was put on a probation hold with other charges pending.
The investigation continues & more arrests are anticipated. The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is reminding citizens to lock vehicles when they’re left unattended & never leave valuables inside.
