Sturgeon Bay firefighters will be out on three occasions during the next three months, passing the boot to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign, featuring members of Union Local 2682, will be held in downtown Sturgeon Bay on three Saturdays, June 28th, July 19th & August 16th. Each time, firefighters will be located at the intersection of 3rd Avenue & Louisiana Street from 8:30AM to 4PM. Last year, a total of $9,568 was raised. The 2014 goal is $10,000. The money raised locally will benefit children & adults affected by muscular dystrophy throughout the Sturgeon Bay area. The first Fill the Boot fundraiser on a national basis was held in 1954.
