Sturgeon Bay Firefighters had a good start to their “Fill the Boot” fundraising effort for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, but will need more help this weekend in order to meet or exceed their goal. Matt Austad, coordinator for the local campaign, says the men & women of Local 2682 raised $5,526 during the last weekend in July. The goal they set for themselves is $15,000. Austad says the fundraising fire crews really appreciate the support they received the first go around. The Sturgeon Bay Firefighters will be at the intersection of 3rd Avenue & Louisiana Street from 8:30AM to 4:30PM Saturday & from 9AM to 3:30PM Sunday. Look for the signs & the department’s ladder truck.
