SB Open Bass Tournament This Weekend

The 2013 Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament is only days away & anglers are readying themselves for the catch & release tournament. A couple of Canadians, Chris & Cory Johnston, won the top prize last year & set a record in the process. They took home a Ranger boat with a Mercury outboard motor & trailer worth $41,500. Cash prizes were also handed out. The tournament begins on Friday. The fishermen will be trying to catch the most fish by weight. They will have to work hard to match the record of 61.29 pounds set by the Johnston brothers in 2012. JJ Malvitz explains where the boundaries of the fishing tournament are located…

Friday evening “The Modern Day Drifters” will perform at the dock dance & Saturday is kids day. If all goes well, the awards presentation will be held at 5PM Saturday. In the event of inclement weather, the 23rd annual Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament could be extended to Sunday.
