A group calling itself “Safe Lawns of Door County” wants to see an end to the use of pesticides and herbicides in parks and at schools locally and has announced that it will present a petition to that affect to the Sturgeon Bay city council during its regular meeting Tuesday evening.
At last count, the group had collected 141 signatures on the petition which urges local leaders to act now to stop the application of chemical pesticide, herbicide, and fertilizers at public parks, at schools and on land in general.
The council session at City Hall begins at 7pm Tuesday.
