For the third consecutive year, Door County saw an increase in the amount of room taxes collected. In 2012, that growth registered at 6.4% greater than the previous year, providing an additional $208,507 in room tax collections. Van Lieshout also points out that 30% of the room tax collected, or more than a million dollars, was directed back to the municipalities where it was collected.
