Roadwork in Northern Door County Delayed One Week

Work on a 2.2 mile section of Highway 42, from Gills Rock to the Northport ferry landing, will not start on Monday as was originally announced. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation now says the resurfacing project will start one week later on Monday, October 6th. The roadwork comes with a price tag of $615,000. Once the project begins, the highway will remain open with lane closures and flagging operations. Motorists should expect short delays, use caution, and remain alert when driving through the work zone. The DOT hopes to have the project wrapped up by late October.
