A segment of County Trunk B immediately south of the entrance to the George Pinney County Park, in the Town of Sevastopol, will be closed Thursday. The Door County Highway Department says the closure is required for emergency repairs to the roadway from the partial collapse of the concrete tunnel associated with the old mining operation in the area. The project is expected to be completed within a day, but will be dependent upon the work conditions uncovered at the site. Final pavement repairs are expected to be completed in October to allow settlement of the excavated area. A detour will utilize Bluff Drive and Bluff Court. All motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and obey all detour signage. The project is in the same area where a small sinkhole about ten feet deep appeared over the weekend. Any questions should be directed to John Kolodziej, Door County Highway Commission, at 746-2500.
