Weather permitting, the last elements of the Highway 42/57 project, from southern Door County to the Bayview Bridge in Sturgeon Bay, will be wrapped up this week. We’re told the contractor will finish landscaping along the intersection where Highways 42 and 57 converge, cross pipes will be cleaned out, and final pavement markings will be placed throughout the 7.4 miles of the construction zone.
Meanwhile, it’s anticipated that milling and paving work along Highway 42, north of Sturgeon Bay, will run from north of Sunny Point Road to Rainbow Ridge Court, just south of Egg Harbor, the northern end of the 12 mile project. Other work expected includes sign replacement at the south end of the construction zone and the beginning of centerline and rumble strip installation.
October 24th has been set as the completion date for the roadwork on Highway 42. The estimated cost of the two projects is $4.7 million.
