Private Well Testing Through UW Oshkosh

Door County residents with private wells are again invited to participate in a groundwater study as part of a cooperative effort with the UW Oshkosh Environmental Research and Innovation Center. This is a continuation of previous studies done in the fall seasons of 2019 and 2020. There are 2 main goals of this ongoing study. One is to provide education on the importance of testing your well water. The other is to build a database of groundwater quality data in Door County. The first 250 registrants will get a discounted rate of $30 for testing the presence of bacteria and nitrates. Registrants after the first 250 will pay $45. Participants will also have the option of testing for arsenic and cumulative tests for pH, hardness, alkalinity, and iron for an additional $25.
