Preliminary Hearings Set in Child Pornography Case

Two Sturgeon Bay men are expected back in Door County Circuit Court for preliminary hearings on October first in connection with a two month internet crimes against children investigation conducted by Sturgeon Bay Police, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and the State Division of Criminal Investigations. A court complaint was issued Monday outlining allegations against 37-year old Steven Link, a downtown used book dealer and 26-year old Kory Murphy, a designer and musician. Link is accused of five felony counts of possession of child pornography and five misdemeanor charges of invasion of privacy. Murphy faces two felony counts of possession of child pornography. He is free on $3,500 signature bond. Link’s bail was previously set at $10,000 cash with court orders that banned him from using computers connected to the internet and requiring him to avoid contact with a person mentioned in the court complaint. He allegedly was found to have hidden a camera in a bathroom and made videos of some people who used it. Both men were arrested on September fifth.
