Would be Jacksonport polar bears are invited to take the plunge in Lake Michigan Saturday, December 10th, for what you might call a trial run for the big event on new year’s day. A crew from a Los Angeles based production company needs footage for a digital documentary series, “Fresh Takes on Family Time”, but is not able to be on hand for the 26th annual event on January 1st. Interested swimmers & spectators are encouraged to show up at Lakeside Park in Jacksonport at 11AM Saturday & proceed to the registration booth in the upper pavilion to sign a video release form before heading down to the beach. The swim will take place on the beach in Lakeside Park at noon & filming should conclude between 12:30PM & 1PM. Swimmers should bring items they would have with them for the New Year’s day plunge. As always, costumes are encouraged. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item which will be donated to the Feed My People food pantry in Sturgeon Bay.
