Peaceful Protest in Sturgeon Bay

There was a peaceful demonstration for racial justice in downtown Sturgeon Bay Thursday night. This event, which was organized by Eva Webber and Michelle LeCloux, started around 5:00 pm near the intersection of Michigan Street and 3rd Avenue. When asked if the event met her expectations, Webber had this to say……

Webber says she is very proud of the community and how they really came together to break the silence on this issue. It has been estimated that over 400 community members showed up. Then around 5:30 pm the protest attendees peacefully marched across the Steel Bridge. Webber further explains this experience…..

There were few minor verbal disagreements, but most of the motorists passing by honked and waved their approval. Webber says they have now created a special Facebook group called “No Justice, No Peace, Door County.” They already have over 100 members and are planning on creating conversations with more future events. Webber also thanks the Sturgeon Bay Police……
