The Door County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the Sheboygan County woman who died Sunday afternoon in a collision between a car & motorcycle on Highway 42, south of Old Stage Road, in the Town of Liberty Grove. Deputies were contacted about the accident shortly before 1PM & found 52 year old Charlotte Grider of Plymouth, Wisconsin suffering from severe head trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the cycle, 51 year old Kevin Grider, also of Plymouth, sustained non-life threatening injuries & was airlifted to Saint Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Twenty five year old Anthony Charlier of Appleton, driver of the car, sustained minor injuries. The accident report indicates that the Charlier vehicle was heading south when the driver smelled smoke apparently coming from the steering column. Charlier turned left in front of the northbound motorcycle while attempting to enter a nearby parking lot. He said he never saw the cycle approaching. Grider & his wife, who were not wearing helmets, were thrown off the motorcycle following impact. The Liberty Grove Fire Department & first responders, Door County Emergency Medical Services & the Brown County Medical Examiner’s office assisted at the scene.
