From now on, garbage & recycling collection in Sturgeon Bay will be done differently from past practices. Residents have been given large collection bins, essentially garbage cans on wheels, that can be put out based upon individual needs. A newly purchased refuse & recycling truck has the capability of picking up & dumping the bins without the driver having to leave the vehicle. All residents have to do is park the carts in a place where they can be accessed on a regular basis. Bob Bordeau, Sturgeon Bay Municipal Services Superintendent, says, in the long run, the new program should be more efficient & save taxpayers money.
