New Garbage Carts to be Delivered Soon in Sturgeon Bay

It won’t be long & new refuse & recycling carts will be delivered to Sturgeon Bay residents. Delivery of the carts, in 96 & 64 gallon sizes, will mark the beginning of a new system to deal with the collection of garbage & recyclables. Bob Bordeau, Municipal Services Superintendent, says delivery of the carts will start next week & it could take several weeks to roll out the bins on wheels to all city residents. Residents are being asked to hold off on using the new carts until November 12th, when the new collection system is scheduled to start. The garbage & recycling carts will be delivered & placed near the area where bins are normally placed for collection. Inside the garbage container will be an information packet outlining how to place the carts for pickup, single stream recycling, general information on the new program & other information about services provided by the Sturgeon Bay Street Department. Any questions should be directed to the city street department at (920)-746-2912.
