“Muse” Groundbreaking Ceremony

Wednesday morning a large crowd witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony for the “Muse” building in downtown Sturgeon Bay. This building will house the “Muse” music school and performance venue, while also adding more affordable housing opportunity in the downtown area. Executive Director Kaira Rouer commented on how it will meet multiple needs in the community…………..

Building Contractor Craig Cornell spoke about the special cooperation of community members and project coordinators helping to bring this important new addition to 3rd Avenue. Mayor David Ward spoke about the value this project will bring to the city and how a tax incremental financing district helped revitalize the property. Then Artistic Director Dave Utzinger shared how “Muse” will benefit the community………..

The “Muse” organizers and project managers then collectively broke ground with their shovels to the applause of the crowd. Construction on that site will continue through the winter and their goal is to have the building completed by this coming May.
