The Door County Administrative Committee is leaning toward a Village Administrator from Slinger, Wisconsin as its top pick for the next Door County Administrator. However, while indicating that Maureen Murphy was its “candidate of choice,” the committee stopped short of recommending Murphy for the position. Instead, the five person committee will meet again on Monday & consider the results of a background check before making a recommendation to the full County Board for its August 28th meeting. Murphy & Village Administrator Josh Van Lieshout of Egg Harbor & Chuck Kell of Little Chute were the top three candidates interviewed by committee members. Maureen Murphy is 49 years old, she has been Village Administrator in Slinger since 2006. Prior to that, she was Assistant Village Administrator for the City of Mequon from 2002 to 2006 & before that spent ten years as Director of Legislative Affairs for Milwaukee County. Murphy received an MPA in public administration from the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee in 1992.
