It appears that the Michigan Street Bridge in Sturgeon Bay will be open to pedestrian & vehicular traffic on Friday afternoon at 3PM. On September 20th, the Department of Transportation closed down the more than 80 year old span to complete painting & inspections of the structure. A nearly 21 million dollar rehabilitation project on the bridge began in July of 2009 & the DOT opened it up to traffic in July to accommodate the city’s summer tourism trade.
