Sturgeon Bay residents will have an opportunity to learn more about the city’s water weed cutting operations during a meeting on Wednesday, May 29th. The session of the Harbor Commission will be held in the city council chambers at 6PM. The purpose of the meeting is to allow the public to ask questions & voice concerns, if any, about the operation. The public will also learn the rules & regulations that are in place for water weed cutting in the Bay of Sturgeon Bay. The budget for the program is $91,700 annually. A typical water weed harvester costs about $125,000, although grant funding has covered as much as 50% of the cost in the past. Any questions prior to the meeting should be directed to the Sturgeon Bay Parks & Recreation Department at 746-2914.
