Manure Tanker Rolls Over Near Algoma

A tanker truck hauling agricultural waste rolled over Thursday morning at the intersection of County Highway D & Highway 54 in the Town of Ahnapee. The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department reported to the scene just after 8AM & found the tanker leaking its contents  into the east ditch of Highway D. It is estimated that approximately 5,000 gallons were in the tanker. The Department of Natural Resources was called because of the spill.

Officers were able to determine that the 27 year old driver of the tanker was attempting to turn left onto County D from Highway 54 when he lost control of the 1996 International semi-tractor trailer before overturning. There were no injuries & no other vehicles were involved.

The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department & the Wisconsin State Patrol are continuing their investigation into the rollover.
