A 22 year old man was arrested earlier this week after an incident in Sister Bay in which a shot was fired & a man struck in the head with a handgun. Door County Sheriff Terry Vogel says his deputies were alerted to the disturbance around 3AM Sunday. They were told the suspect had fired a gun & fled the scene. According to witnesses, the man got into an argument with another man, pulled a gun on him & pointed it at his head. He then struck the man in the head & shot toward the ground in his direction. Within minutes, the man was spotted by a deputy in the Fish Creek area & a traffic stop was conducted. During the stop, the man was uncooperative & a taser was used before he was taken into custody & transported to the Door County jail. Officers recovered a loaded handgun & three knives, one of which was a switchblade. He could face charges of endangering safety, resisting arrest, possession of a switchblade, shooting within 100 yards of a dwelling, disorderly conduct, battery, a second offense of drunken driving & possession of a firearm while intoxicated. It was noted that the man was in possession of a concealed carry permit from his original home state of Kentucky.
