An educator with ties to Door, Brown & Kewaunee Counties has announced his decision to run for assembly in the first district. Joe Majeski, who recently retired after spending 24 years as an administrator for the Sevastopol School District, says he is running as a Democrat & wants to provide “leadership for a better tomorrow” in Madison. Majeski grew up in Kewaunee County, was a graduate of Luxemburg-Casco High School & the former business manager of the Luxemburg Medical Clinic. After graduating from Ripon College, he earned masters degrees in education psychology & business management & advanced degrees in special education & educational administration. Besides his administrative duties, Majeski was also active in coaching, including football, track, baseball & destination imagination. He has been a cub scout leader, a volunteer at school & fundraising events & is currently active in the Jacksonport Advancement Association, Stella Maris Parish, The Ridges Sanctuary, Wisconsin Association of School Administrators, Wisconsin Retired Educators Association, & the Buy Local Initiative. He & his wife, Jeanne, have three adult children. Majeski says he believes in hard work, individual rights & family values.
