Local Meat Processor Conducting Voluntary Recall

Though the products are not a problem for the vast majority of people who might consume them, Marchant’s Meats & Sausage in Sturgeon Bay is voluntarily recalling 1,915 pounds of snack sticks & bratwurst. The products contain nonfat dry milk that was not listed in the ingredient statement on the label. The products are safe to consume by those who do not have an allergy or intolerance to milk, but could cause serious reactions for those who do. Products included in the recall are vacuum-packaged & labeled with the same legend. The list includes:

Fajita chicken snack sticks – Half pound packages

Garlic & pepper chicken snack sticks – Half pound packages

Fajita bratwurst – 1.5 pound packages

Hot sticks – Half Pound packages

Mild beef sticks – Half pound packages

All products were sold in retail stores & through wholesalers in the Door County area between July of 2013 & April 18th of this year. Consumers who have any of these products may return them to Marchant’s Meats & Sausage or discard them. For more information, call (920)743-1200.
