Little Sturgeon Days This Weekend!

Little Sturgeon Days, a celebration of the southern part of Door County, returns for its 22nd season this weekend with family oriented activities, great food, a big parade & a variety of music. The 2012 event, Saturday & Sunday, will be located at the end of County Trunk CC near Wavepoint Marina & Resort, in the town of Gardner. On Saturday, enjoy the music of “The Shy Guys” in the afternoon & “Rocker” during the evening. Purchase a raffle ticket for $2 or three for $5 & you might win one of several gift certificates or cold hard cash. The drawing is at 4PM Sunday. Speaking of Sunday, the big parade starts at 11AM & features “TC Hatter the Clown”, the Green Bay West & Southern Door high school marching bands & plenty of other floats & units. After the parade, the Green Bay West drum line will put on a “5th Quarter” performance. Sunday afternoon, “Centerline” provides the music, there will be kids face painting & a bookworm for them to play on. If you get hungry or thirsty, there will be plenty of food & refreshments available.

For more than two decades, the Little Sturgeon Property Owners has sponsored Little Sturgeon Days. Proceeds from the event are invested to meet community needs. In 2010, defibrillators were purchased for Little Sturgeon first responders. Last year, the emergency response team & the Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Department received a donation to outfit a rescue boat.
