Liberty Grove Selling House in Mariners’ Park

Back in 2018, the Town of Liberty Grove bought some waterfront property in Gills Rock, just south of the abrupt right hand turn where Highway 42 heads towards Northport. It is currently public land which they plan on turning into a town park called “Mariners’ Park”. One major hurdle for the park project is the residential home currently on the property. Town Administrator “Bud” Kalms explains that the park is already public land, but they have a long way to go…..

The town has announced they are now selling the home and will be accepting bids until 4:00 pm July 6th. Those bids will then be opened at the town board meeting at 7:00 pm July 7th. The buyer must accept the building in “as is” condition and must have the house removed from the property by December 31st. Aside from removing the house, Kalms explains their ongoing work towards the park’s completion…….

Again, those bids must be submitted by 4:00 pm of July 6th, and the building may be inspected by appointment through the town office at 920-854-2934.
