Ice Carvers Needed for Fire & Ice

If you think you can turn a block of ice into something that doesn’t look like a block of ice, the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center would like to hear from you. The local tourism agency is seeking beginner, intermediate and advanced ice and snow carvers for the annual Fire and Ice event set for Saturday, February 14th throughout the city. Ribbons and cash ranging from $25 to $125 will be awarded, depending on the competitor level, at an awards ceremony at the visitor center on that day. Family and student teams are encouraged to team up and showcase their artistic talents. There’ s no cost to participate and experience isn’t necessary. You won’t even need carving tools. They will be available for a $10 refundable deposit. Sign up by contacting Amanda Thuss at the Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center at (920)-743-6246 or by email at promotionscoordinator@sturgeonbay.net
