Highway 42/57 Project Wraps up Soon

It looks like the contractor working on the Highway 42/57 road project, from southern Door County to the Bayview Bridge in Sturgeon Bay, is getting close to wrapping up the $1.3 million highway upgrade begun in August. According to the Department of Transportation, the concrete work and landscaping are on the punch list for this week. By the time all of the orange barrels have been removed, work will have been completed on 7.4 miles of highway.
Road construction on highway 42 in northern Door County continues this week. The 12-mile project, beginning just north of Sturgeon Bay and ending south of Egg Harbor, is expected to feature milling operations from County G, north of Carlsville, to the general area of Horseshoe Bay Road. In addition, work on sign replacements and rumble strip milling will begin at the south end of the $3.4 million project.
