Close to 2,400 runners will be visiting the Door Peninsula this weekend as they take part in the 6th Annual Door County Half Marathon at Peninsula State Park near Fish Creek. The participants will bring their running gear and a desire to do their very best. They will also bring their wallets and the willingness to part with some of the cash that’s in it. Myles Dannhausen, publicity director for the race, says the purpose of the half marathon is to give runners an opportunity to compete in a beautiful setting, but he acknowledges that the event is an economic “shot in the arm” for the county at a quiet time of the year…
