Gusty Winds Cause Power Disruptions

A combination of gusty winds & falling trees caused electrical disruptions in Door County over the weekend. Both Wisconsin Public Service Corporation & Sturgeon Bay Utilities sent crews out to deal with the power outages & service was restored quickly. Sturgeon Bay Utilities responded to a handful of calls, including one on Lake Forest Park Road caused by a tree that fell on wires, breaking the pole. Public service reported that, at one time, 200 customers were without power, including one woman whose electrical wires were literally pulled off the side of her home near Fish Creek when a tree fell. Numerous reports of trees, branches or wires down were logged in throughout the weekend.
