It appears that the Gibraltar School District is moving on without Secondary Principal Kirk Knudson. WDOR News has learned that parents of students in the district were informed last week that the duties formerly administered by Knudson would be handled by Elementary Principal Brian Annen with help from Dean of Students, Tim Mulrain. Meanwhile, the school board search for a replacement is expected to begin in January in the hopes that a new High School Principal will be selected in the spring, possibly in March. That person would begin working in July. Many district residents were taken by surprise when Knudson abruptly resigned in November. The board of education quickly accepted his resignation. That led to increased activity online as adults and students mobilized support. However, very little information about the circumstances leading up to the resignation has been released. In her letter to parents, Superintendent Tina Van Meer thanked Knudson for his 17 years as a Gibraltar staff member.
