Wisconsin Public Service line electricians will present an educational program designed to demonstrate the importance of safety around electricity and power lines to 6th grade students at Gibraltar school in Fish Creek, from 12:05 to 12:51 on Thursday, January 24th.
The highly visual program entitled “Path To Ground” deals with a demonstration of potential hazards of overhead and underground electric lines. Demonstrations include a high voltage, path-to-ground display board and the safety precautions and equipment needed for linemen to work safely on power lines and the consequences if they don’t.
The three important safety messages WPS hopes students will remember are; Always respect electricity, assume all downed power lines are live and dangerous, and never become a path-to-ground.
