Folks interested in the establishment of a skatepark in Sturgeon Bay are invited to attend a “Friends Of The Skatepark” meeting on Thursday, October 4th at 6:30pm. During the meeting at the YMCA’s Sturgeon Bay Program Center an overview of the project design and budget will be presented, along with updates on fundraising progress, fundraising opportunities, interim skating opportunities and plans for community outreach.
The newly-formed “Friends” group, which expects to meet on a monthly basis, is encouraging those interested in any aspect of skateboarding or BMX biking to attend. Design plans for the proposed 10,000 sq ft park were developed by Grindline Designs of Seattle, Washington and are available for viewing at the YMCA, Baylake Bank and Glas, The Green Coffeehouse.
