Fire Marshall Wraps Investigation into Sturgeon Bay Fire

The office of the state fire marshall has wrapped its investigation into the fire that destroyed the Harbor Place Shoppes on Sturgeon Bay’s west side. Fire Chief Tim Herlache says there’s no reason to believe that any foul play was involved in the blaze early Tuesday morning. Herlache says the initial thought that the fire started in the Maritime Art Gallery has been confirmed. He says the cause is as yet undetermined & no loss estimate is available. Chief Herlache says the matter is now in the hands of an insurance investigator & the tenants will have to wait until that investigation is completed. He also indicates that parts of the structure are unstable & caution is advised.
