Ephraim Dog Park Turned Down

Thursday morning the Village of Ephraim Physical Facilities Committee held a meeting, and one of the topics discussed and voted upon was the proposition of a dog park on village property. Jerry and Pam Okarma approached the village last fall with the offer to donate funds to build a dog park on German Road, just east of Town Line Road. The annual additional maintenance costs of the park were addressed, as were concerns about an increase in traffic brought up by 7 nearby property owners. Ephraim Administrator Brent Bristol tells us about the committee’s vote on moving forward with the project……

After the vote was made to not pursue the issue at this time, the Okarmas pulled their offer to fund the project. Bristol says the project is somewhat put on hold until any possible future proposal is brought to the village.
