Emergency Vehicle Fun Day Sunday

For most people, the only opportunity to get close to a Door County emergency vehicle is to watch it as it drives by on the highway. That will change Sunday when the third annual emergency vehicle fun day is held at the Cherryland Airport near Sturgeon Bay. From 11AM to 3PM, people of all ages will be able to learn about the different vehicles & equipment that emergency personnel use every day. Door County Sheriff’s investigator Chris Neuville, who came up with the idea for the emergency vehicle fun day, says personnel will be on hand to talk with visitors. Some of the participating departments at the event include the Door County Sheriff’s Department, Sturgeon Bay Police & Fire units, Brussels Union Gardner & Southern Door Fire Departments, Door County EMS, Blackhawk & the Eagle III helicopters, the DNR, US Coast Guard & Civil Air Patrol. The emergency vehicle fun day is free, food & beverages will be available. An open house at the newly renovated terminal at the Cherryland Airport will also be part of the day’s activities.
