Sturgeon Bay City Engineer Tony Depies has issued another progress report on the 8th Avenue & Egg Harbor Road street project. Depies notes that Egg Harbor Road will again be opened for the weekend, but it will have gravel areas that may get dusty if there is no rain. Motorcyclists should use extra caution when traveling through the area or use a detour route. The street will be closed for paving on Monday & reopen permanently when asphalt installation is completed. At this point, utility work is about 90% complete, leaving only the phone lines to be re-connected, sidewalks are 90% complete, & landscape restoration is at about 50% of what needs to be done.
On Monday, Egg Harbor Road will be closed for paving which could carry over into Tuesday. Access to all shops on Egg Harbor Road can be made from 12th Avenue. Driveway work for the Wine Cellar & Pizza Hut is moving forward. Completion of the driveway is anticipated sometime next week. All stores in the Corner Depot will remain open during the construction work.
