Members of the Sturgeon Bay Board of Public Works will be updated on possible plans for upgrading Egg Harbor Road during their meeting Tuesday evening. Pete Hurth and Steve Parent of Baudhuin, Incorporated are expected to present information on 3 concepts for upgrades to the busy street. All of the concepts include planning for sidewalks on both sides of the road.
Preliminary cost estimates for the street makeover are in the range of $700,000 for road improvements plus the cost of constructing a detention pond. While no grant money is available for such road improvements as sidewalks and storm sewers, there’s a good chance that the city could receive a grant coveringĀ half the cost of building the pond.
The Board of Public Works, which consists of the city council and Mayor Thad Birmingham, meets at 6pm Tuesday evening.
