A crash Thursday morning in the Town of Franklin has taken the life of a 62 year old woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles. The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene at 6:36AM. According to the report, a 58 year old Two Rivers man, was traveling north on County Highway Q in a Toyota truck, stopped at the stop sign at the intersection with County Highway KB, before pulling into the path of a Chevrolet truck driven by a 23 year old Kewaunee man that was heading west. The vehicles collided and both ended up in the ditch at the northwest corner of the intersection. The Two Rivers man suffered incapacitating injuries, his passenger, the 62 year old woman needed to be extricated from the vehicle. Both were transported to Green Bay hospitals where the woman later died as a result of her injuries. The 23 year old Kewaunee man suffered a non-incapacitating hand injury.
The accident remains under investigation with assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol. The Denmark Fire Department, County Rescue Service and Franklin First Responders also responded to the scene. Wisconsin Public Service was called because power lines were downed as a result of the accident.
