Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Anniversary

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse to the public in September of 1963 after years of restoration work. The lighthouse, now also a museum, was constructed in 1868. As part of its 50th anniversary celebration in 2013, staff at the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum will focus attention on the Duclon family & William Duclon who was stationed at the lighthouse for 35 years…[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/N236.mp3|titles=Patti Podgers]
Staff is planning a number of activities for the year, including special theme tours, as well as a few surprises. The Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Museum is located in Peninsula State Park. A state park visitor sticker is needed in order to check out a tour from mid-May through late October.
