A planned presentation on roundabouts in & near Sturgeon Bay never materialized Tuesday during the regular meeting of the Sturgeon Bay City Council. That’s because representatives of the department of transportation never showed up for the noon-time meeting. City Engineer Tony Depies said the DOT had wanted to touch base with the council about its plans to build the circular intersections or junction at Michigan Street & Egg Harbor Road & Highway 42/57. Depies noted that it had been some time since a discussion on the matter had taken place & the state agency was hoping to answer questions in anticipation of a public hearing in the future. It appears that the DOT is planning to move forward with installing the roundabouts. It is unclear if another DOT presentation will be scheduled.
